Working as an intern at Egde

Suddenly, I found myself in August, and that means my time in Egde is over for now. I thought it would be exciting to showcase what I've had the opportunity to work on this summer and reflect a bit on my experiences as an intern at Egde.

As part of the team at Egde, I've had the opportunity to dive into exciting tasks involving the implementation of AI systems, with a special focus on ChatGPT models. The result of this work has led to an exciting new in-house tool at Egde – EgdeAI. 🤖💬

"There is no summer of 2023 without ArtificaI Intelligence!"

EgdeAI can be described as a customized ChatGPT experience that offers tailored tools to contribute to the daily work of employees at Egde. One of these tools is a PDF chatbot, allowing a user to upload a chosen PDF document and engage in conversations with it. By utilizing this tool, one has the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the document's content through a slightly more interactive experience.

Furthermore, EgdeAI provides a "cleaner" ChatGPT experience where a user can ask questions just like with ChatGPT-4. The significant difference here is that EgdeAI offers a chat experience that aligns better with an employee's context at Egde. We've tested scenarios including onboarding and guidance for new hires, team-specific chat experiences, and more.

Bringing together five unknown individuals to tackle new challenges together can always be an exciting task, and it turned out to come fairly naturally to us. Together, we've managed to produce a product we're incredibly proud of. We've faced challenges, technologies, and trials that have given us a stronger foundation for further learning and expertise.

With the immense potential that AI brings to the table, this summer we've only scratched the surface of what can be harnessed from its possibilities. What we've discovered has led us to a deeper understanding of the technology's capacity and its real-world applications.

We hope that our work serves as a catalyst for further developing this tool. The goal is that its functionalities will contribute to a simplified and more efficient work routine, something that will have far-reaching effects for the industry as a whole.
